Herschel Walker vs. Scott Carson, take two. After abruptly pulling out of their “Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” bout with a laceration above his eye, the former NFL legend will once again look to make his long awaited MMA return against the little known Carson.
According to MMAjunkie.com, the heavyweights will meet at Strikeforce’s yet-to-be announced show on January 29th.
Walker, who has been doing 2,500 sit-ups and 1,500 push-ups EVERY SINGLE DAY since high school, made his mixed martial arts debut against Greg Nagy this past January. The chiseled 48-year-old will look to build upon his impressive 3rdRound TKO victory.
Carson holds a respectable 4-1 pro record. After submitting his way to victory in his fist three outings, the 40-year-old took a 10-year hiatus from competitive fighting. He was knocked out by Lorenz Larkin this past June in his return to action.
The event is expected to take place inside the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
Here are the fighters rumored to participate in the Showtime broadcast:
Nick Diaz (Strikeforce Welterweight Champion) vs. TBD
Herschel Walker vs. Scott Carson
Tim Kennedy vs. Jason “Mayhem” Miller
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza Robbie Lawler vs. (Strikeforce Middleweight Champion)
