In front of a packed house at The Anaheim DoubleTree Hotel, WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko addressed the media for the first time since his title fight against Josh Barnett was officially canceled last Friday.

Many thought that the press conference would feature Emelianenko confirming his signing with the UFC, but instead EA Sports’ “MMA” video game stole the thunder as it announced Emelianenko would be the game’s featured fighter.

Gegard Mousasi and Renato “Babalu” Sobral were also announced as characters who will appear on the video game.

Emelianenko’s camp also went on to discuss Fedor’s current contract status as he currently has one fight left on his Affliction contract, but Affliction no longer exists as an MMA promotion.

“I can promise you and promise Affliction, if something was done wrong, someone will be held responsible,”  M-1 USA Vice President Steve Bash told the media.

As we reported earlier today, officials within the Fedor camp told the LA Times they don’t believe a deal with the UFC could be struck in time for president Dana White’s Friday conference call.
