UFC Welterweight Champ Georges St Pierre

According to Yahoo! Sports, welterweight king Georges St-Pierre will make his next title defense against Jake Shields at UFC 129 in Toronto, Canada. The April 30th event takes place inside the Rogers Centre.

The show marks the Octagon’s debut in Toronto.

GSP was last seen steamrolling Josh Koscheck at UFC 124 in December. The win was his eighth consecutive lopsided victory and fifth straight successful title defense.

The former Strikeforce middleweight champ has cried all the livelong day about wanting to face the world’s best. Shields earned his shot at the brass ring with his uneventful split decision win over Martin Kampmann at UFC 121.

Here are the bouts rumored for the UFC’s return up north:

Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
Jake Shields vs. Georges St-Pierre (UFC Welterweight Champion)
