Hours after officially announcing the Octagon would make its debut in Kentucky at “UFC on Versus: Sanchez vs. Kampmann,” the world’s largest MMA promotion confirmed the March 3rd event will be co-headlined by a pivotal middleweight scrap between Mark Munoz and CB Dollaway.
While the title of the fight card should have given it away, Diego Sanchez will face Martin Kampmann in the night’s featured attraction.
“Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann are two fighters who always go for broke, so this should be a great fight,” UFC president Dana White said. “Both of these guys feel they belong at the top of the welterweight division and they’ll have a chance to prove it on March 3. The same goes for Munoz and Dolloway. They push the pace and look to finish fights and both want to fight the best middleweights out there. We’re really excited to bring a card like this to Louisville.”
Munoz was last seen taking a unanimous decision win over Aaron Simpson at UFC 123. “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” dons an impressive 9-2 MMA record and has ended five of his wins before the final horns have sounded.
Dollaway is riding a three-fight winning streak and was nearly flawless in his 1stRound submission victory over Joe Doerksen in his last foray.
The KFC Yum! Center will host the star-studded fiesta.
