Brazilian jiu jitsu specialist Rani Yahya has a new opponent for “UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2,” as an injury has forced the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung off the card.

Former WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown has volunteered his services for the January 22nd card, only 20 days after his split decision loss to Diego Nunes at UFC 125.

MMAJunkie was able to confirm the swap with sources close to the bout, but the extent of Jung’s injury is still unknown.

Brown was hoping for a successful return to the UFC for the promotion’s New Year’s card, but came up short after a strong 1stRound against Nunes.

Although his bout went the full 3 rounds, Brown was able to avoid a medical suspension, which paves the way for his participation in Fort Hood, Texas.

Yahya enters the UFC with back-to-back losses and is desperately in need of a win.

After winning his first three bouts in the WEC, the Brazilian has hit a skid against some stiff competition in the form of Joseph Benavidez and Taekya Mizugaki.

“UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2” will air on Spike TV starting at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
