Fresh off a win over his mentor former Tito Ortiz, Matt Hamill is ready to see if he can fend off up-and-coming UFC light heavyweight in Phil Davis.

MMAJunkie has learned verbal agreements are in place for the April 30th show in Toronto, Canada.

Davis has looked impressive during his four-fight win streak inside the Octagon and holds a perfect 8-0 record overall.

“Mr. Wonderful” was last seen submitting Tim Boetsch at UFC 123 this past November.

Hamill has won his last two bouts following his disqualification victory over rising contender Jon “Bones” Jones.

After narrowly outpointing Keith Jardine at “The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale,” Hamill dominated Ortiz in October at UFC 121.

UFC 129 marks the Octagon’s highly anticipated debut in Toronto. The event will take place inside the Rogers Centre.

Georges St-Pierre will defend his welterweight title against Jake Shields in the main event, while Randy Couture is expected to make his return against Lyoto Machida in the night’s co-headliner.
