In the biggest news of the early week, Sherdog is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko is set to face Tim Sylvia in his first fight out of the UFC. Out of all the possible opponent not named Randy Couture, this is by far the toughest opponent that Fedor could’ve been matched up against. When asked about Sylvia, “I am looking forward to fighting him and training hard for this fight”, Emelianenko went on to say.

According to the report, the fight would be scheduled at the American Airlines Arena which is the home of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. HDNet Fights is also based out of the American Airlines Arena, but there has been no confirmation or denial of HDNet Fights’ involvement yet.

There’s no word on other bouts scheduled for the July 19th card nor which promotions would be involved in the organization of the event.

As we reported earlier in the week, Monte Cox’s Adrenaline MMA would not schedule Sylvia for its first card on June 14th in Chicago so it could be assumed that Adrenaline MMA wouldn’t be involved in the Fedor vs. Sylvia fight.
