Although the Octagon’s graphics department has yet to release the official event poster for “UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans,” it didn’t stop the organization from announcing more than half of the card’s star-studded roster.
The March 19th show takes place inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. A light heavyweight title scrap between champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad Evans will headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
While the company has diligently filled out most of the event’s lineup, the trusty rumor mill has taken the liberty of doing the rest of the leg work. If these proposed bouts hold true, and the injury bug doesn’t come roaring its ugly head, this could be one of the deepest fight cards of the year.
Here are the athletes expected to participate in the show:
Dan Miller vs. Nick Catone*
Luiz Cane vs. Karlos Vemola*
Ricardo Almeida vs. Mike Pyle*
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Nate Marquardt*
Bredan Schaub vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic*
Joseph Benavidez vs. Ian Loveland
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Gleison Tibau
Edson Barboza vs. Anthony Njokuani
Kamal Shalorus vs. Jim Miller
Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland
Rashad Evans vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)
