To retire or not to retire, that's Paul "Semtex" Daley's question

We reported back on February 27th that Cage Rage champion Paul “Semtex” Daley suddenly called it quitswhen he was widely considered to be Jake Shields’ biggest test under the ProElite banner. Well there was an interview posted earlier today that led everybody to believe that Daley would be continuing his MMA career, but now there’s even more confusion as Cage Rage’s own website states, “Paul “Semtex” Daley vacates British title”.

The Cage Rage announcement does not say that Daley is going to retire, but it is odd that the supposed “last” fight of Daley’s career has now been put on hold until “later this year or early next year”, if he even comes back.

On the original story back in February, Daley stated that his title defense would be the last fight before he calls it quits but if you read the interview things become even more clouded.

When asked, “Now that you’re back to defend your title at Cage Rage 26, what, if anything, is new about the re-emerging Paul Daley?” Daley responded by saying, “Re emerging? I ain’t been anyway, Same old.”

It must be said that nowhere during the interview did Daley state he was back, but the interviewer did ask Daley how serious was the retirement rumors and what has changed since then to which Daley responded by saying, “???? I’ve not made a follow up statement to the retirement one, so guess nothings changed.”

We’ll have more on this story as soon as we can get some more information.
