Apparently, the UFC are hell-bent on increasing their footprint on Facebook. After announcing the popular social network would stream two free “UFC Fight for the Troops 2” preliminary bouts, the Octagon has just upped the ante hours before showtime.
Fight fans that “Like” the UFC’s official Facebook page will now be able to stream four live fights tonight starting at 7PM ET/4PM PT.
“I’m always looking for ways to give fans fights for free and this is just another example of that,” UFC president Dana White said. “Facebook is such a great tool for people to stay connected and we’re excited to put [four] live fights on our UFC page for free.”
In addition to DaMarques Johnson vs. Mike Guymon and Cody McKenzie vs. Yves Edwards, fanboys can now watch Waylon Lowe vs. Willamy Freire, as well as Mike Brown vs. Rani Yahya for the everyday low price of $FREE.99.
The freebie fight train keeps on rolling, as Spike TV will broadcast the card’s main bouts live starting at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
“Fight for The Troops 2” takes place at Fort Hood, Texas. The event will raise funds for the brave men and women in the United States Armed Forces with traumatic brain injuries. Information about ways to donate can be found online at www.fightforthetroops.com.
