Remember a couple of weeks ago when former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s heart was brought into question? According to “The Ultimate Fighter 13” coach, you can throw all that nonsense out the window.
“I love this sport. I would not be here if I didn’t enjoy this. I could definitely do something else, but this is who I am and this is who I want to be,” Lesnar told Heavy.com during Tuesday’s TUF 13 media day.
That something else just so happens to be a seven-figure payday for merely 30-minutes of work, courtesy of Vince McMahon’s WrestleMania XXVII.
The UFC’s biggest pay-per-view draw is coming off an embarrassing trashing at the hands of Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 this past October. Lesnar will get a chance to redeem himself against another heavy-handed banger in Junior dos Santos once filming wraps on the reality show.
Dos Santos, if you recall, was already the No. 1 heavyweight contender. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury shelved Velasquez for the next 6-8 months.
“Junior Dos Santos is a roadblock on the way to me getting my title back, and that’s it,” Lesnar matter-of-factly stated. “I have no beef with Junior. He’s a nice kid.
“He’s just in my way and I’m gonna do what I can to get him out of the way.”
