The world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion has announced 11 bouts for their “UFC on Versus 3: Sanchez vs. Kampmann” show. We’ll hold off on confirming the card’s completion, as the Octagon has recently shown a propensity to showcase 12 fights in one night.
The Versus broadcast features a pivotal welterweight affair between Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez. The KFC Yum! Center will host the March 3rd event.
Sanchez recently returned to the 170-pound division after a solid run at lightweight. However, following a title loss to then-champ B.J. Penn at UFC 107 he opted to move back up to the larger weight class.
Kampmann, on the other hand, dropped a controversial split decision to Octagon rookie Jake Shields at UFC 121. Prior to the loss, Kampmann posted a 4-1 record with wins over Carlos Condit, Jacob Volkmann and the aforementioned Thiago.
