In anticipation of a record-setting audience for “UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields,” Octagon officials have been more proactive than usual in alerting fans on the status of seats.
The April 30th show takes place inside Toronto’s Rogers Centre in Canada and features the country’s three-time defending Most Popular Athlete, Georges St-Pierre. The welterweight king puts his strap on the line against Jake Shields in the night’s featured contest.
Approximately 42,000 tickets will be made available to UFC fans, with nearly a quarter of them costing $100 or less.
St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck set the North American attendance record at UFC 124 this past December. A reported 23,152 screaming GSP fanboys packed the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that evening.
UFC 83 in April 2009 took place inside the Bell Centre, as well. That card also featured you know who and was the Octagon’s prior attendance record holder with 21,451.
