According to MMAJunkie, Showtime’s broadcast of “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” this past Saturday peaked with 853,000 viewers.
As expected, viewership on the premium-cable network topped out during the card’s main event between welterweight champ Nick Diaz and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos.
Unfortunately for those that simply tuned in for the featured attraction, Strikeforce hosted a spectacular night of action. Not including the three amateur bouts that kicked off the eagerly anticipated show, all 10 professional fights ended before the final horns blared.
Overall, the event averaged 561,000 viewers.”Strikeforce: Miami” in January 2010 was the company’s best showing last year with 517,000 viewers.
“Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” took place inside the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
