Did you hear that ruckus? Don’t fret, it was only Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker doing YES! cartwheels after hearing Gina Carano was back training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Here is the official post from XtremeCouture.com just moments ago:
“Xtreme Couture would like to welcome back Gina Carano. Gina spent the morning training with Gil Martinez, here are a couple of shots from today’s practice.
We expect to see a lot more of Gina here training in 2011.”
Since getting her supermodel-esque face roughed up by Strikeforce champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in August 2009, Carano disappeared completely from the mixed martial arts landscape.
The 28-year-old has been pursuing a career in Hollywood during her hiatus.
Carano owned a perfect 7-0 record entering the highly anticipated catfight, but proved to be no match against Cyborg’s ruthless striking and aggression. Although she hasn’t sniffed an MMA gym since the devastating defeat, Coker has continued to tease fans with her potential return.
Now that “Conviction” has finally taken the first step towards redemption, it appears we can expect to see the hottie back in the cage sooner rather than later.
