In case you missed it, UFC president Dana White announced during today’s conference call that Rich Franklin would now be facing newly re-signed Vitor Belfort at UFC 103. At the time, it was believed the two would tango in a light heavyweight affair, however Franklin just Tweeted Belfort requested and was granted a catchweight bout at 195-pounds.

“Just found out i will b fighting vitor at a catch weight of 195 as per his request,” Franklin Tweeted on Friday at 6:19PM PT.

Franklin was originally slated to face former PrideFC 185 and 205 pound champ Dan Henderson on the September 19th show, however due to the negative “backlash” the organization received from fans worldwide, they were forced to pull the ‘ol switcheroo.

This will be Franklin’s second fight at 195 pounds, as he just took a unanimous decision over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99.

Belfort was slated to take on Jorge Santiago at “Affliction: Trilogy,” but we all know how that went.
