Although the buzz from Jon Jones’ impromptu promotion to UFC light heavyweight top contender has barley died down, it hasn’t prevented the Gambling Gods from dropping their two cents on the subject.
After trouncing Ryan Bader Saturday night at UFC 128, “Bones” was presented with a shot at the brass ring after teammate Rashad Evans was stung by the injury bug. While the 23-year-old has only 13 professional fights under his non-championship belt, it appears there isn’t a current 205-pounder Jones wouldn’t be favored against.
The challenger enters the biggest scrap of his budding career as nearly a 2-to-1 favorite. Shogun checks in at +150 for his first UFC title defense.
UFC 128 takes place March 19th inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
