The Nevada State Athletic Commission has suspended 10 UFC 126 athletes for injuries sustained in their respective fights this past Saturday. After confirming the face-to-foot defense is no bueno, Vitor Belfort will now be forced to ride the pine until March 23rd for precautionary purposes.
Although Forrest Griffin and Jake Ellenberger each left Las Vegas victorious, they weren’t able to do so unscathed. Both have been suspended until August 5th with potential broken bones.
The former light heavyweight champion needs his right foot examined by a physician, while Ellenberger’s hands will require attention.
“UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort” took place inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Middleweight king Anderson Silva knocked Belfort out with a highlight reel front kick in the night’s featured attraction.
