Immediately after unleashing the front kick heard ‘round the world at UFC 126, middleweight king Anderson Silva danced the night away with the latest members to his extensive entourage. After breaking out a Jabbawockeez mask at last Friday’s weigh-ins, it was only fitting Silva pop some celebratory bottles with the b-boys.
Prior to executing the face-to-foot defense, Vitor Belfort claimed the champ was hiding his true self behind a mask. Later that evening, “The Spider” took center stage with the Jabbawockeez during their critically-acclaimed “MÜS.I.C.” show at the Monte Carlo.
That was when the hip-hop dance crew gave him their signature headgear, which Silva showcased during his epic mask-to-face showdown with Belfort the following day.
Although things got rather heated during the weigh-ins, both Brazilians opted to conserve their rage for the next night. It didn’t take Silva long to find his groove on Saturday, as the marksman floored Belfort with a Steven Seagal-inspired front kick just minutes into their scrap.
The victory not only marked his 13th straight inside the Octagon, but also his eighth consecutive title defense. Both are UFC records.
