Although Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker hasn’t decided where his Heavyweight Grand Prix will commence, it didn’t stop the Gambling Gods from releasing the investment options for the April 9th event.
The final four will be finalized once Josh Barnett meets Brett Rogers in the night’s co-featured contest, and Alistair Overeem faces upset specialist Fabricio Werdum in the tourney’s last quarterfinals matchup.
Barnett and Overeem are each at least 3-to-1 favorites to dispose of their adversaries and advance to the next round of the tourney. However, the 265-pounders are far from sure things (Please see: Fedor Emelianenko).
The HW GP suffered a significant blow with Emelianenko’s abrupt exit on Saturday. Although, “The Last Emperor” has professed he’ll be back and would be down to serve as an alternate should the injury bug come roaring its ugly head.
Here are the early betting odds for the tournament’s remaining bouts (Courtesy of Bodog):
Favorite (-) Underdog (+)
Josh Barnett -300
Brett Rogers +240Alistair Overeem -325
Fabricio Werdum +250
