Earlier this week, Octagon president Dana White raised the stakes for BJ Penn and Jon Fitch by announcing their clash at UFC 127 would serve as a welterweight top contender bout. Well, the Gambling Gods decided to up the ante by releasing some of the card’s betting lines.
Fitch will enter the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia as a 2-to-1 favorite to dispose of the former multi-divisional champ and advance to the championship affair. Fitch has won 21 of his last 22 fights, his last five wins have been of the decision variety.
Penn has dropped two of his last three contests, but made a triumphant return to the 170-pound weight class by putting Matt Hughes to bed at UFC 123 last November.
The Hawaiian is an early -160 underdog against the wrestler.
The pay-per-view broadcast airs live in North America on February 26th at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
