Similarly to how the voice told Kevin Costner in the movie “Field of Dreams” to ‘Go the distance,’ the Gambling Gods profess tonight’s UFC 127 main event between BJ Penn and Jon Fitch will do the same.
Fitch continues to hover around the 2-to-1 favorite arena, while the former multi-divisional champ will enter the contest a +165 underdog. However, those lines have remained steady since first opening a couple of months back.
To help spice things up for tonight’s show, the powers that be have also released the Over/Under lines for the main event. Fitch has gone the distance the last eight times he’s taken center stage. The American Kickboxing Academy trained fighter has rattled off five consecutive unanimous decision victories.
The odds of the welterweight top contender scrap ending early is pegged at +200, whereas the likelihood of the three judges determining Saturday’s outcome checks in at an overwhelming 3-to-1 opportunity.
UFC 127 takes place inside the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The pay-per-view broadcast airs live in North America tonight at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
