While fight fans anxiously wait for Diego Sanchez to tweet a picture of his bruised, bloodied and battered face, the UFC has just released an exclusive post-fight locker room interview with “The Dream” where he’s seen showing off the goods.
Although his mug was busted up beyond recognition, Sanchez managed to leave Kentucky with a highly controversial (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) unanimous decision victory over Martin Kampmann, nonetheless.
As he was being examined by physicians, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta went backstage to pay his wounded welterweight a visit.
Speaking of payment, while Fertitta was strictly there to give Sanchez props for putting on a spectacular show, Diego “Don’t Call Me Nightmare” ensured his ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus check was in the mail.
Not only did UFC president Dana White award Sanchez and Kampmann each with the extra $40,000 commission, he later tacked on an ADDITIONAL $120,000 for each fighter.
