On Saturday, Elliot Sadler guided TapouT’s No. 2 Chevrolet Impala to a 12th place finish in its NASCAR Nationwide Series. The race car was officially unveiled at the Sam’s Town 300 Nationwide Series Race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“That TapouT is a brand-new sponsor coming on,” one of the ABC broadcasters stated during Saturday’s races. “That has been associated mainly with MMA and UFC, the Ultimate Fighting. They’re glad to get them on board.”
In early February, Kevin Harvick Inc. announced a multi-year partnership with TapouT.
Sadler will sit behind the wheel in all Nationwide Series events. At the same time, KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will also carry the world renowned black and white logo on the hood of the No. 2 TapouT Chevrolet Silverado in the Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway in 2011.
“TapouT has become one of the most well known brands in sports,” Harvick said when the agreement was first reached. “To have the opportunity to become part of the TapouT organization means a lot to not only me, but the KHI racing family. DeLana and I are very excited about this program and look forward to kicking it off in Las Vegas.”
This partnership marked an unprecedented expansion for the TapouT brand, which to date had only sponsored mixed martial artists and the promotions they compete for.
The multi-year sponsorship includes co-branded Kevin Harvick and TapouT products, which will launch in the Spring of 2011.
