If you’re not a fan of Jon Jones after witnessing his destruction of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128, then please allow the freshly-minted light heavyweight king to detail his heroic pre-fight activities just hours before the biggest scrap of his life.
As customary prior to every contest, Jones seeks a tranquil space to get his meditation on. Unfortunately for the skyrocketing superstar, the waterfall park they selected on Saturday was in a “ghetto” area of New Jersey where muggings take place on the regular.
Although Jones tweeted about the unbelievable incident yesterday, he gave a complete blow-by-blow breakdown during the UFC 128 post-fight press conference. It was the first question the 23-year-old was asked when he hit the podium, despite becoming the youngest champion in UFC history just minutes beforehand.
