Considering Jon Jones is gallivanting throughout the Big Bambino’s backyard of New York City, it was only fitting the light heavyweight call his shot ala Babe Ruth prior to entering the Octagon this Saturday at UFC 128.
While appearing as a guest on Fox’s “Good Day New York,” the skyrocketing superstar was asked a barrage of questions, including how he intended to make Mauricio “Shogun” Rua a one-and-done champion. Instead of just telling the host what’s gonna go down inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, “Bones” gave him a first-hand feel of his impending submission victory.
According to Jones, a rear-naked choke will be his finishing move in Saturday night’s main event.
The 23-year-old’s resume reads a dominant 12-1, with 10 of his wins coming of the highlight reel variety. Oddly, none of Jones’ three tapout victories came via RNC.
Half of Shogun’s four losses were delivered by way of submission. Forrest Griffin welcomed him to the Octagon with a rear-naked choke loss at UFC 76 in September 2007.
