UFC Lightweight Joe Stevenson

It appears Joe Stevenson has found a loophole around the UFC’s semi-enforced ‘Three strikes and you’re out’ policy. After dropping five of his last seven Octagon scraps, including his reverse trifecta, “Joe Daddy” is dropping to the featherweight division.

The UFC reported today the former “The Ultimate Fighter 2” winner will face Javier Vazquez at “UFC on Versus 4.” The yet-to-be announced card is expected to take place June 26th inside Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center.

It seems like ions ago Stevenson lost his 2008 lightweight title fight to BJ Penn. Although he’s collected three “Fight of the Night” bonuses during his current skid, his losses have come against Kenny Florian, Diego Sanchez, George Sotiropoulos, Mac Danzig and Danny Castillo, respectively.

Vazquez makes his big league debut after posting a 2-3 record in the WEC. He was last seen dropping a decision loss to Chad Mendes at WEC 52 in November.

Here are the athletes rumored to participate in the freebie fight card:

Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vazquez
Rich Attonito vs. Matt Brown
Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo
