According to MMAJunkie, Court McGee will be forced to withdraw from his UFC 131 scrap with Jesse Bongfeldt courtesy of a torn ACL. McGee has recently been training at Cesar Gracie’s camp helping Jake Shields, Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez prepare for their upcoming title fights.
It is believed he injured his knee at the famed gym.
McGee is fresh off an impressive submission victory over Ryan Jensen at UFC 121. The October contest marked his first fight following his win over Kris McCray to earn “The Ultimate Fighter 11” title and six-figure UFC contract.
Bongfeldt kicked off his big league career with a Draw against Rafael Natal this past December at UFC 124. He had won seven straight fights prior to the controversial verdict.
It’s believed the company will keep Bongfeldt on the card. There’s no word on who might play substitute.
