The UFC is clearly trying to increase their amount of followers on Twitter. Shortly after announcing Wanderlei Silva would face Chris Leben at UFC 132, then confirming “UFC 131: Lesnar vs. Dos Santos” would indeed take place inside the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, the promotion tweeted Tyson Griffin and Manny Gamburyan will meet in a featherweight affair at “UFC on Versus 4.”
Griffin is tearing a page out of Joe Stevenson’s book with his most recent career choice. Although he owns a respectable 14-5 professional mark, both former lightweights have lost three straight Octagon scraps and would likely have been cut had they not dropped the extra 10 pounds.
Gamburyan holds a 11-5 record, with eight of his wins coming by way of finish. He was last seen getting put to sleep by featherweight king Jose Aldo at WEC 51 last September.
The yet-to-be announced card is expected to take place June 26th inside Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center. Versus will broadcast the freebie fight card live.
Here are the athletes rumored to participate in the show:
Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vazquez
Tyson Griffin vs. Manny Gamburyan
Rich Attonito vs. Matt Brown
Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo
