If you ask the Gambling Gods, Nick Diaz will not only retain his Strikeforce title this Saturday against Paul Daley, but the welterweight champion will also do it before the final horn blares on their 25-minute affair.
Diaz will be riding a nine-fight winning streak into the Valley View Casino in San Diego, California. The submission specialist holds a 24-7 (1 NC) record and is considered by most as the best 170-pounder competing outside of the Octagon.
Twenty of his wins have come via finish, so it’s understandable why the sports books expect the more than 2-to-1 favorite to end Daley’s night early.
Daley, on the other hand, owns a 27-9-2 resume with only five of his wins coming by way of the judges’ scorecards. If the Brit wins, it will most likely be early. So those thinking about dropping money on “Semtex,” it might be wise to parlay Daley and for him to win within the distance. As history has shown, they tend to go hand-in-hand.
The same clearly goes for Diaz, however it will cost you a few more pennies to earn a significant profit in a parlay.
Diaz and Daley will headline Saturday’s Showtime broadcast, which airs at 10PM ET/PT.
