On Friday, the world’s premier MMA promotion announced Carlos Condit will face Dong Hyun Kim at “UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber II” on July 2nd. The event takes place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las, Vegas, Nevada.
Condit had been pushing for a fight against BJ Penn, but it was reported yesterday the Hawaiian would pull out of the card with an undisclosed injury.
Penn was originally slated to headline the pay-per-view broadcast opposite Jon Fitch. However, the former welterweight top contender was stung by the injury bug last week.
Condit owns an impressive 26-5 record, but hasn’t been seen since late last year when he put Dan Hardy to sleep.
Kim is one of the division’s most underrated competitors, so this will be a good opportunity to showcase his skills against a former world champion.
The Korean holds a practically perfect 14-0-1 professional record. He was last seen taking a unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz at UFC 125.
UFC 132 will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
