After a violent night of mixed martial arts action, the California State Athletic Commission suspended nine “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley” athletes for various injuries sustained during this past Saturday’s show.
Paul Daley had Nick Diaz dazed and confused early in the night’s main event, but the Strikeforce welterweight champion was able to stage an impressive comeback to retain his hardware. While Diaz managed to leave the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego with his 170-pound title in tow, he didn’t do so unscathed.
Diaz was issued a 60-day, no contact ban for his eye laceration. Daley was suspended for 45 days and can’t engage in contact for 30 of them for his TKO loss.
