In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus formulated one of the most unforgettable pop bands in music history. While a faulty tape deck subsequently exposed Milli Vanilli for their fake singing style, Rashad Evans has taken to Twitter to reveal Jon Jones’ alleged fugazy ways.
“[Jon Jones] will b mma’s version of Milli [Vanilli].. Wait until the curtain comes down cuz it will!!” Evans tweeted Friday night. “He is fake! The fighting is off the hook, but as a person he is fake!
“Get off your own fan bus cuz nobody is driving!! U ain’t as raw as u believe & I’m gonna show ya!!”
Evans will challenge his former friend-turned-foe for his UFC light heavyweight title later this year. While most fighters on this side of sanity would prefer to allow this vicious sleeping dog to lie, “Suga” has quickly soured on his prior protégé and isn’t afraid to put him on blast for it.
Evans’ anger stems from comments “Bones” recently made regarding their time together at Greg Jackson’s famed mixed martial arts academy. It appears the former 205-pound champ believes Jones committed the ultimate no-no in teammate code.
“We fought each other in practice,” Jones told ESPN. “A finish has been possible several times and it has always been me finishing him. I never did it out of respect that he was the elder of the school. It’s against protocol in a way. Some people would do it, but I believe in tradition.
“He has a lot to study. I have a lot to study, but I get to study[ing] more in-depth. He gets to study[ing] and gets a headache.”
Jones’ simple response to his former homie’s Twitter rant, “#cmonson.”
