It’s like déjà vu all over again for UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The Jersey boy is once again looking to avenge his lopsided 2008 unanimous decision loss to Gray Maynard inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, as well as trying to notch his first successful post-BJ Penn title defense against his rival.
The rewind train certainly doesn’t stop there. Just like in their rematch at UFC 125 this past January, Edgar is again favored to leave the Octagon with his 155-pound belt in tow.
Prior to their New Year’s Day date, Edgar had entered the cage as an underdog in each of his previous four outings.
“The Answer” is an early -140 odds-on favorite to retain his crown in their trilogy, while Maynard is a slight +110 ‘dog.
“UFC 130: Edgar vs. Maynard III” takes place May 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
