Miller’s Strikeforce deal expired following his TKO victory over Tim Stout at “Strikeforce: Nashville” last April. He bumped his record to 24-7 (1 NC) after submitting Kazushi Sakuraba at Dream.16 this past September.
He was initially dropped by the UFC after his unanimous decision loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 52 in April 2005.
Simpson holds a 8-2 record, with six of his wins coming via finish. He was seen last month taking a unanimous decision win over Mario Miranda at “UFC Fight Night 24.”
The organization did not confirm whether the middleweight affair would appear in the pay-per-view portion of the broadcast. However, Miller is one of the sport’s most charismatic personalities so it’s likely the UFC will showcase their newest acquisition.
