Strikeforce Middleweight Jason Mayhem Miller

Less than 24 hours after bringing the “Mayhem” back to the Octagon, the UFC announced Jason Miller will break in his freshly inked contract against Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 on July 2nd.

Miller’s Strikeforce deal expired following his TKO victory over Tim Stout at “Strikeforce: Nashville” last April. He bumped his record to 24-7 (1 NC) after submitting Kazushi Sakuraba at Dream.16 this past September.

He was initially dropped by the UFC after his unanimous decision loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 52 in April 2005.

Simpson holds a 8-2 record, with six of his wins coming via finish. He was seen last month taking a unanimous decision win over Mario Miranda at “UFC Fight Night 24.”

The organization did not confirm whether the middleweight affair would appear in the pay-per-view portion of the broadcast. However, Miller is one of the sport’s most charismatic personalities so it’s likely the UFC will showcase their newest acquisition.

UFC 132 takes place inside the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. A bantamweight title scrap between champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will headline the star-studded show.

Here are the athletes slated to participate in the event:

Preliminary Bouts:

Brian Bowles and Takeya Mizugaki
Andre Winner vs. Anthony Njokuani
Erik Koch vs Cub Swanson
Melvin Guillard vs. Shane Roller
Dennis Siver vs. Matt Wiman

Main Bouts:

Tito Ortiz vs. Ryan Bader
Carlos Condit vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Wanderlei Silva vs. Chris Leben
