After watching nearly every favorite do what the sports books predicted they would do Saturday night at UFC 129, gambleholics will now be forced to wait until the end of the month to see how the Octagon’s next set of investments will pan out. “UFC 130: Edgar vs. Maynard III” takes place May 28th and features a lightweight title affair between champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
It’ll be like deja vu all over again for the Jersey boy. He’s once again looking to avenge his lopsided 2008 unanimous decision loss to Maynard inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, as well as trying to notch his first successful post-BJ Penn title defense against his rival.
The replay train certainly doesn’t stop there. Just like in their rematch at UFC 125 this past January, Edgar is again favored to leave the cage with his 155-pound belt wrapped around his waist.
Prior to their New Year’s Day date, Edgar had entered the cage as an underdog in each of his previous four outings.
“UFC 130: Edgar vs. Maynard III” takes place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
