“Dream.17: Fight for Japan” Fight Card Updated

With the UFC enjoying a brief vacation, Dream is frantically scrambling to arrange their first fight card since hosting their “Dynamite!! 2010” extravaganza on New Year’s Eve.

What we do know about the May 29th show is the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan is expected to play host. Dream’s Bantamweight Grand Prix will be featured in the card, as well as one of the company’s most popular fighters.

The hot topic over the weekend was, who will Shinya Aoki’s ever-elusive opponent will be?

Antonio McKee was on tap to face the submission specialist, but former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner’s name started circling the rumor mill. However, it appears a scrap against Varner is a long shot at this point in time – per both parties.

While nothing official has been announced, HDNet is hoping to broadcast the show live in North America.
