According to Jason “Mayhem” Miller, newly signed Strikeforce middleweight Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is doing everything he can to get out of their rematch scheduled to take place at Dream.11 on October 6th inside the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan.
“Fuckin Jacare is ducking me,” Mayhem Tweeted today at 2:30PM PT.
To which 5thRound.com RT’d, “is your fight off for Dream.11?”
Unfortunately, no response from Mayhem 🙁
In their initial meeting at Dream.9 in May, Mayhem landed an accidental illegal kick to the top of Jacare’s head, which opened up a nasty gash. Ringside doctors examined the cut, however determined the Brazilian would be able to continue.
After the fighters continued action, blood immediately started to pour from Jacare’s dome, this time covering both fighters in a thick coat of red.
The two were separated again, this time exchanging some words as the doctors took a second look at Jacare’s melon. Unfortunately, they made the only call they could, putting and end to the open middleweight title bout.
Because Miller’s strike was deemed accidental, the fight was ruled a No Contest.
The two were slated to meet for the open Dream middleweight crown, however Jacare just inked a new contract to fight for the newly-revamped Strikeforce.
We’ll update you if Mayhem ever gets back to us …
