Rapper Biggie Smalls once poignantly stated, “Mo money, mo problems.” The message appears to have struck a chord with Strikeforce middleweight Tim Kennedy, as he claims he is willing to fight Michael Bisping for the everyday low price of $FREE.99.
“I will give my fight purse to charity if @ufc @strikeforce lets me fight @bisbing,” Kenndey told HDNet’s Mike Straka late Wednesday night.
What, you didn’t know there was beef brewing between Kennedy and Bisping? Well, nobody did until the Green Beret hit the Brit up on Twitter this week.
“It is #disrespectful and unprofessional to illegally knee someone in the face while they have their knees on the ground @bisping,” Kennedy unexpectedly posted.
It certainly didn’t take long for Bisping to catch wind of his comments. “The Count” quickly responded, questioning Kennedy’s motives for attacking him for something he did way back in February.
“@TimKennedyMMA what the [expletive] has it got to do with you, and why you piping up now?? U missed the bandwagon, it left 2 months ago,” Bisping replied.
“@bisping I often re-watch fights in my division to try and learn something new. Takeaway from your fight was [Jorge Rivera] is awesome,” Kennedy responded.
FYI – Rivera is signed to Kennedy’s Ranger Up apparel company.
Regardless, one athlete competes for Strikeforce and the other for the UFC. So, it’s highly unlikely the scrap will go gown in the near future. Although, “Business as usual” has meant many different things since Zuffa, LLC decided to purchase their biggest rivals this past March.
