Just hours before “UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill” jumps off inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker made several major announcements regarding upcoming Strikeforce shows.
For starters, it appears Coker is still the company’s Chief Operating Officer. It had been reported the promoter was demoted when Zuffa, LLC purchased his company this past March.
As expected, Fedor Emelianenko will make his highly anticipated return against Dan Henderson on July 30th inside the Sears Center Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The scrap will take place at a 220-pound catchweight (maximum).
The card will air on Showtime, not pay-per-view.
In addition, Gina Carano will indeed face Sarah D’Alelio at “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” on June 18th. HDNet will broadcast all five of the card’s preliminary bouts.
Their new deal with HDNet is a one-time thing for now, however additional shows could be added.
Following their June 24th event in Kent, Washington, all “Strikeforce: Challengers” cards will take place at the Pearl in the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.
