The UFC wasted no time in locating a new opponent for Aaron Simpson. Just days after announcing Jason “Mayhem” Miller would withdraw from their middleweight scrap to coach opposite Michael Bisping on “The Ultimate Fighter 14,” the world’s premier MMA promotion confirmed Brad Tavares will step in on one months notice to meet the wrestler at “UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber II.”
Tavares owns a perfect 7-0 resume and was last seen putting Phil Baroni to sleep at UFC 125 this past January.
Simpson, on the other hand, has a 9-2 record and posted a unanimous decision win over Mario Miranda at “UFC Fight Night 24” in March.
UFC 132 takes place July 2nd inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A bantamweight title bout between champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
