According to the Vancouver Athletic Commission, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport will handle all drug screening procedures for Saturday’s “UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin” event inside the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The CCES has worked closely with the World Anti-Doping Agency since 1995 to promote a clean sports environment in Canada.
Their sample collection process will adhere to WADA’s International Standard for Testing, in respect of in-competition testing. After the athletes’ samples are gathered, the CCES will coordinate secure delivery to the WADA’s accredited laboratory in Laval, Quebec.
The Octagon made its long-awaited debut in Vancouver last June. No drug test results were announced from that show.
UFC 131 features a heavyweight top contender scrap between Junior dos Santos and Shane Carwin.
