The UFC has announced Jonathan Brookins will break in his new six-figure contract against Erik Koch at “UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou.”
“The Ultimate Fighter 12” winner will drop to the featherweight division for the September 17th scrap.
Brookins hasn’t fought since taking the TUF 12 lightweight tournament back in December. He defeated Michael Johnson to secure his future with the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion. Brookins has won four straight fights since losing to Jose Aldo at WEC 36.
Koch has finished off his last three opponents before the final horns have sounded en route to earning two “Knockout of the Night” awards. Koch was last seen scoring a vicious 1stRound knockout of Raphael Assuncao at UFC 128.
The show is rumored to take place inside the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Spike TV will broadcast the event’s main bouts live.
Here are the athletes expected to participate in the freebie fight card:
Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald
Jonathan Brookins vs. Erik Koch
