Just hours after announcing light heavyweight champ Jon Jones would headline UFC 135 opposite Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, the company added a heavyweight scrap between Travis Browne and Rob Broughton to the roster.
Browne is fresh of an impressive “Knockout of the Night” victory over Stefan Struve at UFC 130. The lights out win bumped “Hapa’s” record to impressive 11-0-1 mark.
Broughton, on the other hand, hasn’t been seen since submitting Vinicius Queiroz at UFC 120 last September. Queiroz subsequently tested positive for the steroid Stanozolol following his Octagon debut.
Given Browne’s momentum, it’s expected their 265-pound affair will make the pay-per-view portion of the festivities. However, that may all depend upon how the rest of the card rounds out.
UFC 135 is rumored to take place inside the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Here are the athletes expected to participate in the show:
Ben Rothwell vs. Mark Hunt
Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Damacio Page
Travis Browne vs. Rob Broughton
Diego Sanchez vs. Matt Hughes
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Jon Jones (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)
