Running the reverse trifecta typically warrants getting cut by the UFC, but in Kendall Grove’s case it appears two straight losses was enough to be shown the door. The former “The Ultimate Fighter 3” winner said his goodbyes late Friday night on his Facebook page.
“Thank u UFC for a lot of Good memory’s. Respect to all the staff at zuffa for always treating me like family,” Grove wrote.
The 28-year-old dropped a lopsided unanimous decision loss to Tim Boetsch last month at UFC 130. Grove has had a roller coaster career since winning the six-figure UFC contract in June 2006. He owns a 12-9 record overall, going just 7-6 for the world’s premier MMA promotion.
Grove joins Travis Lutter (Season Four) and Efrain Escudero (Season Eight) as the only TUF winners to by fired by the UFC.
No word on what the future might hold for the Hawaiian.
