Earlier this month, Strikeforce superstar Gina Carano abruptly pulled out of her comeback fight against Sarah D’Alelio in Dallas after her “medical clearance was revoked.” However, it was revealed the following day Carano was completely cleared by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to compete in this past Saturday’s show inside the American Airlines Center.
Each time Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has been asked about the world’s most popular female fighter, the promoter claims to know as much as the media does. At this point in time, that’s roughly next to nothing.
However, during this weekend’s event in The Big D, Carano’s representatives sent Coker a generic email detailing EXACTLY what to say the next time “Conviction’s” name comes up in conversation.
Here is a picture of the message issued by Carano’s peeps (Courtesy of USAToday):
“Gina is feeling much better after having undergone some medical attention and is looking forward to getting back into training very soon. She would like to express thanks to Team Jackson for a wonderful training camp, Strikeforce, and the fans.”
Obviously, there’s still no word on what exactly ailed Carano, nor when she’ll make her eagerly anticipated return to the cage.
