On the heels of last week’s press conference in Rio de Janeiro, the Gambling Gods have decided to release a few early lines for the Octagon’s long-awaited return to Brazil. “UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami” takes place August 27th and features a middleweight rematch between champ Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami.
Silva owns a dominant 28-4 professional record, which includes 14 straight victories. “The Spider” was last seen jamming his foot in Vitor Belfort’s face this past February. The 1stRound knockout win marked a record eight consecutive UFC title defenses.
The baddest middleweight in bare feet hasn’t dropped a scrap since 2006. Speaking of which…
Okami holds an underrated 26-5 record and earned his next dibs status by beating Nate Marquardt at UFC 122 last November. “Thunder” is the last man to hang a loss on the Brazilian. He took a disqualification win over Silva at “Rumble on the Rock 8″ courtesy of an illegal up-kick to Okami face.
Silva is a heavy 4-to-1 favorite to avenge his loss to the Japanese star. Okami checks in as a 3-to-1 long shot.
UFC 134 takes place inside the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
