Just when you thought mixed martial arts would embark on a slight hiatus after “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum” wrapped this past Saturday, MMA comes roaring back this weekend with three consecutive shows – with none of them being of the pay-per-view variety.
“Strikeforce Challengers 16” takes place Friday inside the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. The event marks the last time a ‘Challengers’ card will take place outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Showtime will broadcast the main bouts at 11PM ET/PT.

UFC on Versus 4 will end the weekend with a bang on Sunday evening. The freebie fight card features a welterweight scrap between Nate Marquardt and Rick Story. “Horror” is coming off the most impressive win in his career, while Marquardt is looking to start anew in a lighter weight class. The Versus broadcast begins live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
