Feeling like he’s been backed into a corner, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion feels like he needs to make some thing clear. In a recent interview with Setanta Sports, Ortiz had this to say about Machida’s proclamation that he will win in the 1stRound, “people think I’m soft, they’re big-time mistaken. I hope Machida thinks I’m soft because I’m far from that”.

As the article makes mention of, Ortiz has not won a fight since 2006 against an aging Ken Shamrock. Many credit Ortiz’ outside activities for his lackluster record since returning to the UFC. His focus has been with his projects that will take care of him financially after he’s done fighting.

People sometimes forget that this is the same Tito Ortiz who holds a victory over Wanderlei Silva, Forrest Griffin and Vladimir Matyushenko.

“I’m gonna put a force on Machida that he’s never felt before. He’s never felt a Tito Ortiz when it comes to fight time – and he’s gonna feel that force,” Ortiz went on to say.

Well one thing’s for sure, UFC 84: Ill Will takes place on May 24th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and 5thRound.com will have a LIVE Play-by-Play of the event.
