In preparation for his seventh consecutive title defense, UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre has once again recruited the services of boxing guru Freddie Roach. GSP recently took a trip to the trainer’s famed Wild Card gym in Southern California to hone his skills.
St-Pierre puts his strap on the line against former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz at UFC 137 on October 29th.
The baddest 170-pounder on the planet started working with Roach prior to his UFC 124 contest with Josh Koscheck. For the first time in forever, St-Pierre was content with keeping a fight off the canvas and picked Kos apart with his lightening-fast jab.
He carried over that same strategy in a unanimous decision victory over Jake Shields at UFC 129 in April.
Zuffa, LLC’s first crossover bout takes place inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
